Fortified House of the Roero di Cortanze Family
Typical medieval palaxetum
Residence of a noble Asti family: Roero
The Structure of the Fortified House
The building dates back to the 13th century and looks like a typical medieval palaxetum.
Although it has undergone numerous modernization activities over time, it still retains the facade with elegant decorations: Mullioned windows separated by a column with a capital with acanthus leaves, decorated in terracotta and sandstone.
The Lowered Tower
The fortified house was also equipped with a tower, which was however lowered and raised to the height of the building starting from the eighteenth century.
