Dedicated to the great artist Eugenio Guglielminetti

It is hosted in the prestigious Palazzo Alfieri

It tells the story of modern and contemporary theater

Palazzo Alfieri

From the atrium of Palazzo Alfieri, a baroque building and birthplace of the poet and tragedy writer from Asti, Vittorio Alfieri, you can access the headquarters of the Fondazione Eugenio Guglielminetti (Foundation), while the Museo Eugenio Guglielminetti (Museum) is located in the ancient cellars.

Fondazione Guglielminetti (Foundation)

The Foundation was established in 1998 at the behest of the Maestro, with the aim of preserving and promoting multiple artistic and cultural testimonies. In fact, it houses the pictorial, sculptural, and scenographic sections of six decades of creativity, as well as collections of modern and contemporary art by international masters and donations from philanthropic personalities. The halls of the headquarters host temporary exhibitions dedicated to the figurative and decorative art of the twentieth century.

Eugenio Guglielminetti (Asti 1921-2006): The artist, the set designer

Eugenio Guglielminetti is considered one of the greatest set designers and artists of the twentieth century. After attending Accademia Albertina in Turin as a pupil of Felice Casorati, he lived in Turin in the 1940s and 1950s, stayed in France and cultivated innovative European trends. Sensitive to the international historical avant-gardes, he experimented with different expressive languages, from painting to sculpture to scenography.

The Guglielminetti Museum

The museum itinerary collects large sculptural works, polychrome wood assemblies and sets created for the international theater of classical and contemporary prose, used in dance and opera performances, or for television. The evocative exhibition represents a real excursus on the history of modern and contemporary theater and entertainment.
